Description In this class you will learn how to use a test-first approach for all of your Rails projects. Wolfram Arnold is an experienced Rails engineer who applies test-driven development in his consulting practice. He will provide a real-world perspective in teaching effective patterns for testing. In this class you will learn: - Best practices for efficient development - Maximize value per line of (test) code written - Leverage key Rails developer-productivity features and test for them effectively - Model features in depth, including Associations, Proxies, Validations, Callbacks - How TDD naturally leads to better code & Skinny Controller/Fat Model - How to keep tests maintainable - The role of integration testing (Webrat, Cucumber, Selenium) - Data dependencies of testing: Factories, Mocks & Stubs, Fixtures The examples in this class will cover Rails 3, but most is applicable to Rails 2.3.x as well. The target audience for this class are developers with a working knowledge of Ruby on Rails.
