Artisanal Software Developers Needed (SF)

By sarah in Uncategorized. Posted on April 29th

At Blazing Cloud, we handcraft mobile and web experiences. Our software products are locally sourced, use quality ingredients, and are crafted using time-honored techniques passed down from generation to generation of software artisans.

We are currently looking to add some amazing software engineers to our team. Being an artisanal software development house, our engineers are involved in more aspects of the product than just coding, including dialoguing with designers, helping to conceptualize products, and working with customers before code is written to make sure that we are targeting the correct features.

Blazing Cloud Software Artisan's At Work.

We take our work seriously, but also believe work should be fun.

Qualified candidates should be knowledgeable and enthusiastic about techniques such as TDD/BDD, pair programming, and doing the simplest thing that could possibly work (to pass a test and validate a hypothesis) before trying out more complex solutions. Candidate should also be familiar with agile methodologies, such as Scrum and Extreme Programming. Above all, candidates should be passionate about creating great products.

We are a multilingual shop, and as such we are looking for developers who are fluent in at least two of the following languages:

  • JavaScript
  • Objective-C
  • Ruby
  • Java

Ideally, candidates will have experience with mobile development, either native mobile or mobile web. If you are the right candidate, we believe that whatever you don’t know, you can learn.

This job will be in our San Francisco office. We are looking for people to work with us full-time for a least a few months, either as a contractor or longer-term employee.

If you are interested in becoming one of our software artisans, please send a cover letter and resume to: [email protected]. In addition to a resume or LinkedIn profile, please include a note about what software development techniques you are passionate about and how you would like to grow in your next job.
